Happy Friday News fans! We've decided to not make you wait very long and give you some more views and insight into our new map Friendship Dam. There were some great guesses on the location, even with me making it a bit tough. Below I've included some lore and insight from the level design team for you all to learn a bit more about this map.

This ain't your usual desert dustbowl. Friendship Dam is built on counterpoints, offering you a rollercoaster in the Afghan sun. What began as a symbol of Soviet-Afghan collaboration, is about to become a battle scene even the old shepherds who live in the ancient homes carved into the mountain can't remember. They say, some of those caves used to harbor insurgents, but the place has been an oasis of peace since they started the construction of the Friendship Dam. To think what a catastrophe it would be if the dam were damaged!

Brace yourself for the highs and lows (in every sense); a brand-new town with a modern power station in the works and old caves where it's not advised to wander unarmed; a developing Central Asian country shaking hands with its large northern superpower friend... what could possibly go wrong?

We wanted to create a map that had a large elevation difference, and Friendship Dam has an abundance. The map is divided into an upper and a lower level. The upper level is formed by two sides of the gorge with a base on each side. Here you will find many long-range shooting positions including some places where you can try shooting down from the edge of the gorge. Be careful though as you will be exposed in these positions and open to being rammed off the side. The lower level contains the river bed where you will find three bases and lots of high, massive cover suitable for slow, heavily armored tanks. Watch out for fire from above though!
