Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths
The M60A3 is unique in that it has an equivalent to Explosive Reactive Armor. The armor (located on the front of the hull and sides of the turret) is useful against chemical munitions (HEAT, HE/HESH, ATGMs, etc) due to how ERA works. Simply put, chemical rounds explode on the ERA, causing minimal splash damage and destroying that piece of ERA.
Despite having one of the lowest alpha damages for its class, the M60A3 makes up for it by having an impressive DPM and reload. Use this to your advantage as most do not expect it.
Strengthen's your armor and shields, blocking all damage to them for the duration of the ability. (Shields are require for it to work!)
Thanks to the M60’s toolkit enemies who look to rush to the M60 are in for a nasty surprise. The M60A3 is capable of sacrificing shields to deliver a very heavy and quite often lethal blow to enemies within range.
The M60A3 can be built to be an HP whale having around 6000 HP. This is more than the majority of other tanks in the game.
Weaknesses
Compared to other defenders, the M60A3's mobility is slow and sluggish. You can be easily flanked and circled by most tanks (including other defenders). Keeping your head on a swivel is a must!
The M60A3's current alpha damage is the lowest for the defender class(excluding the BAT-4M). Sitting in the 400 range, to maximize your DPM you should be aiming for modules and critical hits.
Even with the M60A3's good gun ballistics, it is recommended to avoid long range combat beyond 100m as damage falloff becomes drastic.
Even with the M60A3's armor abilities, the commander's cupola and lower plate can still be penned.
Due to the nature of how HE/HESH currently work, they are able to easily destroy shields and add-on armor. Keep this in mind when playing the M60A3!

Tank Summary
The M1E1 in Project CW is a powerful defender that excels as an defensive anchor. Unlike the M1E1 and XM1V, the M60A3 excels at capturing and holding strategic points. Using your defensive abilities, you are able to force enemies to come to you while protecting your teammates. The combat style of the M60A3 is best defined as a gladiator. Use your protection dome to create a dueling area and use your titan shell ability to win the duel.
The M60A3 is not as favorable and forgiving to new players like the M1E1, but can excel in the hands of more advanced players. The characteristics and toolkit require thoughtful planning and skill to use effectively. It is not newcomer friendly but does not require a lot of skill.
Overall the M60A3 is a stalwart that excels in being a "tough nut to crack". While not having the best armor layout, you do have abilities that massively enhance your survival. It is not uncommon for the M60A3 to be the center of attention.
